Contessa Brewer shared some of her brilliant (sarcasm) insight with MSNBC Radio’s listener (yes that is singular) on the incompetent New York City car-bomber.

The thing is, is that — and I get frustrated — and I, I was, and there was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country. Because, there are a lot of people who want to use, um, terrorist intent to justify, uh, writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way. I mean, they’re, they use it as justification for really out-dated bigotry. And, and so, there was part of me that was really hoping this would not be the case.

Firstly, just so you know, this is the woman who also said that the Washington, D.C. snow storms were evidence that global warming was getting worse. Secondly, this is like saying “I wish the one of the people Hitler killed wasn’t Jewish, because that way people won’t think it’s anti-Semitism.” Saying you wish that a problem wasn’t a problem when it’s later proved to the problem isn’t really the smartest way of thinking. The reason that people like myself engage in what Contessa loving describes as “out-dated bigotry” is because Islam actually is a threat to the West. The car-bomber being a Muslim only re-affirms that it is, in fact, an issue that needs to be addressed. Brewer’s hopes that a radical tea-partier set up the bomb is means that she’s ignorant to the fact that there is an Islamic threat, or is too high in a pile of political correctness to speak the truth.

Despite New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s implication that this attempted bombing was likely perpetrated by a tea-partier to protest healthcare, Faisal Shahzad was, in fact, a registered Democrat. So, it’s understandable why the Leftists such as Contessa seem to want to not focus on the fact that he’s a Muslim.

Ann Coulter’s new column is appropriately titled, “Obama National Security Policy: Hope Their Bombs Don’t Work.” She makes a great point:

It would be a little easier for the rest of us not to live in fear if the president’s entire national security strategy didn’t depend on average citizens happening to notice a smoldering SUV in Times Square or smoke coming from a fellow airline passenger’s crotch.

But after the car bomber and the diaper bomber, it has become increasingly clear that Obama’s only national defense strategy is: Let’s hope their bombs don’t work!

If only Dr. Hasan’s gun had jammed at Fort Hood, that could have been another huge foreign policy success for Obama.

The administration’s fingers-crossed strategy is a follow-up to Obama’s earlier and less successful “Let’s Make Them Love Us!” plan.

That evening, 100,000 people were forced to take off their shoes, open their laptops and turn over shampoo bottles larger than a thimble that night, but the federally trained security officials were unable to stop the young Muslim men, the leader of which happened to have been reported to them before going through. Let’s stop trying to pretend that Muslims who blow stuff up are freak outliers and let’s start recognizing that getting 90-year old Gladys Phillips to go through the most humiliating of situations to a bitter civil servant isn’t as effective of pulling aside the guys named Muhammad with one-way paid-in-cash tickets who have to split their shower time with a camel.
